7 Ways A Coordinator Will Save Your Wedding

Why should you hire a day-of-coordinator for your wedding, you ask? What can they do for you and how can you justify spending the extra money? Let’s delve into 7 reasons why this service is absolutely essential for your wedding.

  1. Stress relief: A coordinator is there for you, and they want your day to go as smoothly and easily as you deserve! You also shouldn't have to put your friends or family in a position of running around with the details either, some of your most trusted family and friends are probably already a part of the wedding party and will not be able to look out for all of the details if they have to get ready with the group or take group photos. As a bride or groom that would be stressful having one of the bridesmaids or groomsmen continue to disappear throughout the evening as they are checking on things. They can’t be in two places at once! That’s where a coordinator comes in.

  2. Time-tracking: Being able to stay on track and on -time is very important on your day and in some cases can even affect your budget! If your wedding gets started late you sometimes will need to pay your vendors extra so that you can get through everything you have planned. Most time photographers, videographers and other vendors are on strict agreed upon schedules and won’t stick around just because they are being nice and you haven’t gotten to do your sparkling send off yet. Noone wants to deal with surprise expenses after their wedding!

  3. Eyes on you: Coordinators are there to work with vendors, guests and you of course to ensure everything is timely and efficient. How gratifying knowing there is someone ensuring the cake is delivered and put in its proper place, the band knows where to be and all of the centerpieces are set just so? Coordinators are there to keep an eye on all of the details and make sure it all runs smoothly.

  4. Experience: Coordinators are backed by years of event knowledge. Their biggest strengths are an eye for detail, coordinating, planning and problem solving. Did you or one of your bridesmaids rip their dress? The coordinator is likely ready to go with an "Oh-shit kit" that has a multitude of helpful day-saving items, especially a needle and thread!

  5. Your vendors will appreciate it: Vendors actually love having just one person to go to to get all of their questions answered, and to lead them all through the day. When they go to the coordinator with a question or concern the coordinator will have the answers to a sometimes menial issue that should definitely not be on the mind of the bride or groom while they are having fun. The coordinator will be able to gauge the severity of the issue and if the thoughts of the bride or groom are needed the coordinator will be the best person to know the best time to approach them.

  6. Logistics: Anybody not want to work on their wedding day? Raise your hand! It is a lot of work to manage multiple vendors on your wedding day for set-up and break-down. You’ll have to have someone there hours ahead of the event guiding the vendors and hours after you go home to make sure everything is cleaned up. Do you think you want to put that responsibility on any family or friend? It will be hard for them because they won’t really get to enjoy the party, as they will be running around quite a bit.

  7. Peace-of mind: Just sit back and sip your champagne, everything is in place. Over the past few weeks you’ve gone over all of the details with your coordinator and they are as much of an expert about your wedding as you are. You are in good hands just focus on having fun with your friends, family and spouse.
